Trump tweeted on 14 Jan 2017 that Congressman John Lewis (D-Georgia) was “All talk, talk, talk – no action or results. Sad!” after Congressman Lewis questioned Trump legitimacy as president.
Here is Lewis as a young man, in peaceful resistance for civil rights.
Soooo, all talk, no action?
While Donald Trump was sniveling his way out of the draft, John Lewis was busy truly making America great. So, how dare you, Donald? How dare you, especially on this MLK weekend, dare to denigrate a great American like John Lewis?
Donald Trump, what have you, in your entire career, done for America? What have you sacrificed? What have you bled for? Nothing. You may have worked hard for your business, but a sacrifice for yourself is not a sacrifice.
I’m pissed off enough to go on a long diatribe against Trump and his goons right now, but I think that would disrespect the work of Martin Luther King, John Lewis and other great Americans who have worked so hard to help America realize her potential. I’ll just hope that everyone uses this day to remember what America is really about and I hope that remembrance bolsters your spirits and gives you strength to carry on with the good fight. Dr. King certainly said it better than I:
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.
Stay strong, America
