Well, we knew it was going to happen and now it’s done. Donald J. Trump is now officially the President of the United States of America.
So what now?
For one, don’t go nuts. Don’t start violently protesting, vandalizing storefronts, looting and all that stuff. That only hurts and doesn’t help. Don’t freak out and lose your shit. It’s not the end of the world, or even the end of America (yet). But it is your job to make sure of this. Number one directive: do not give Trump a pass.
Trump has proven himself, throughout the course of his public life and his presidential campaign, to be a shit human being. He has said awful things that should not be forgiven nor forgotten. He has shown himself to be a vacuum of morals. We have elected a narcissist and a sociopath.
So don’t give him a pass when he says and does stupid stuff. Call him out. Don’t let him promote racism and sexism. Don’t let him denigrate our service members. Don’t let him lie about policy. Make him answer for his transgressions. Forgiveness is earned, as well as trust. Don’t be like those spineless “never-Trumpers” who have turned tail and decided to kiss Trump’s ass. Trump has already gotten away with too much shit.
I know that if Hillary Clinton were elected I’d be complaining about her, but I’d much rather be complaining about her than Trump because with Trump the future is much more uncertain. With Clinton Washington D.C. would be dirty politics as usual. Now it’s a circus. So keep on his ass. Remember, he works for us. This isn’t Trump’s America. It’s ours.
